Youth Club

open to ALL young people between the ages of 9 and 19. The Youth Club is staffed by highly qualified Youth Workers, Coaches and Support Staff, to facilitate social and personal development.

Laburnum Boat Club is accredited by London Youth and City and Guilds with the Gold Standard: Assured Quality for Youth Projects and Sound Systems Award in Safeguarding.

During term time the youth club is open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5pm until 7pm and Saturdays from 11am until 4pm.

Evening sessions cost £2 and Saturday & school holiday sessions cost £5. Annual membership costs £100 and is valid for 12 months from the date that it is paid. This entitles the member to free entry to each term time and holiday session at the club.

There are various trips away from the club (sometimes for a small cost): Canoe Slalom competitions, Canoe polo competitions, visiting other Youth/Canoe Clubs, White Water trips, Ice Skating, Cycling, Swimming, Cinema, Sailing.

The Youth Club also runs five or six residential trips each year, from weekends to two week expeditions. These are important opportunities for the young people to develop their boating skills on open and moving water, to learn to live and work together, build and develop relationships, raise and explore issues and experience different parts of the country/world.
